AWS Summit London 2022
Some of our team attended the AWS Summit in London on 27th April where they gained a wealth of knowledge such as modernizing our data warehouse, choosing the right database, and driving digital transformation using AI. It was great to talk with the cloud computing community, especially in person, to connect, collaborate, and learn more about AWS.
John, one of our Software Engineers said he enjoyed the following sessions: Best practise in event driven applications, Code as infrastructure and What is a modern application?
They had huge companies there such as Cancer Research UK, Ocado and Liberty Mutual giving talks about how AWS has improved their respective companies.
“It was really interesting to see how bigger companies are on the same path as us trying to move from local to cloud-based solutions. Its was great to see some AWS services we currently do not use and how they could increase productivity and improve our solutions going forward. I spoke to a couple of developers from other companies whilst I was there, and most seemed to be at the research stage of AWS while we are further along in our roadmap.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and we have picked up loads of tips and things we can investigate applying to our solutions.”
Callum one of our DevOps Engineers said “I found the breakout ‘Architect a multi-tenant SaaS application in the cloud’, ‘Raise the bar of your security standards with AWS native security standards’ and ‘Building hybrid network connectivity with AWS’, very informative. They reinforced my general knowledge that I already had while giving me ideas on how to improve the security, networking and what the final stages of how the tenant separation should look like. I also feel that I have gained a more solid understanding of the fundamentals of how security and networking are meant to be done in the cloud. Also setting up proper threat detection to add preventive measures platform wide in AWS.”
