Last week, members of our modelling team attended the Annual Clean Water Modelling Advisory Group (CwMAG) Conference in Derby. Being a conference sponsor gave us a great opportunity to introduce people to our Netbase and HM Manager software, which resulted in a number of discussions with both new and familiar faces!
As always, it was interesting to hear about the exciting hydraulic modelling projects people have been working on throughout the year. Iain Stevenson from Thames Water set the theme perfectly in his ‘Future Investment challenges for the Water Industry’ presentation during Session 1, where he discussed the various operational and strategic difficulties that water companies are facing.
The workshop on the second day focused on AI and its use in the water industry, which helped to settle our fears that Skynet will not be taking over any time soon! It really got us talking about how Crowder could use AI to improve working practices for the benefit of our clients, and we’ll be looking to take these discussions forward.
