Last Friday, it was an early start for the teams to arrive in Leeds Goals (just outside of Leeds city centre) before 10am. We sponsored Yorkshire Water’s 5-a-side tournament in support of Water Aid and had entered two teams, Real Losses with their Team Captain Tom Crowder and the Waterbalance Wanderers with Eddy Williams as their Captain. The day started off well, both teams played and won some of their games, so things were on the up. They then had lunch which was provided by The Food Emporium in Leeds, which picked up their energy. Unfortunately, the Waterbalance Wanderers lost the final of the runners up competition with a score of 2-1. Real Losses however, got to the semi finals of the main tournament but couldn’t quite reach the finals, and were beat with a score of 2-1. Alas, it’s the taking part that matters, so well done lads. Overall, the teams seemed to have a great day and helped to raise money for an important charity, Water Aid UK. Their vision is ‘of a world where everyone, everywhere has safe and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene.’
